Sam Eaton

Sacred Heart School is a very special place for me and my family.

I grew up in Boise and attended Sacred Heart School. My wife, Kelly, is from Spokane and is a product of the Catholic School system, as well. We met at Gonzaga University, and several years later I somehow convinced her to move back to Boise with me. When we started our family there wasn’t really ever a doubt our daughters would attend Sacred Heart. It was full circle for me, and the school reminds Kelly of the small Catholic elementary school she attended in Spokane. Many of my teachers are still at the school (I won’t name names) and my daughters even had Mr. Loffer for a year, who was my principal!

For me, Sacred Heart stands out because of its sense of community. The faculty, staff, and families all are here because they love the values the School represents. It’s been an honor to serve on the advisory board and give back to the school that is such an integral part of my family’s life.

Chris Nichol

Hello! I am currently the Chair of the Advisory Board. It is an honor to support Sacred Heart School in my position as it has greatly supported my children’s growth – spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and physically. I grew up in the near west suburbs of Chicago, IL. I benefited from a Catholic education in elementary school, high school and college. In 2011, I moved to Boise, ID. From the start, I was able to find a home at Sacred Heart Parish while working at Boise State University as an Assistant Athletic Director in Academic Services. My children attended Sacred Heart for 13 years. I am the Sacred Heart Parish representative.

Angela Young

My daughter Hazel has been attending Sacred Heart since preschool in 2022. I’m thrilled for it to be her permanent school home for years to come. We have loved the Sacred Heart Community since she started and I am currently a room parent in her preschool program where I really enjoy being involved. I’m originally from Oklahoma where I graduated from Oral Roberts University with my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. I moved to Boise in 2011 from Dallas after graduating from Parker College of Chiropractic and opened up my own office in Boise. I look forward to contributing to the vision of this advisory board and being a bigger part of the Sacred Heart Community.

Andrew Owings

Sacred Heart School is the most special school and community. We looked at so many schools in the Boise area and the second we toured Sacred Heart, we knew this was our spot. We have a son and daughter who attend school here. I am grateful to be part of the Advisory Board and help wherever I can for a school that is so important to our family!

I grew up in Bend, Oregon. I attended the University of Oregon majoring in Business and Finance. I have lived in Boise for the past 12 years and met my wife, Erin here. We both love the school, faculty, administration and students at Sacred Heart. The families and sense of community here is unmatched. We are so grateful to be part of a school where our children are being raised with kindness, love, great values and faith.

Blake Hopkins

I am a lifelong Boise resident and proud alumnus of Sacred Heart, where I attended elementary school before graduating from Bishop Kelly High School in 2004. I earned my degree in Business Economics from Boise State University and have built my career in the financial services industry, developing a strong foundation in strategic thinking, accountability, and sound decision-making.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and taking full advantage of Idaho’s outdoors, especially boating and skiing.

My wife, Stephanie, and I met in 2013 and are raising our two daughters, Charlotte and Clara. Having my oldest enrolled at Sacred Heart is especially meaningful, as it brings my experience with the school full circle. Our family greatly values the school’s commitment to academic excellence, faith, and character development.

Anthony Paz

The moment we walked into Sacred Heart we felt a difference. People were… happy! Not just students, but teachers, staff, and administrators as well. This is a special community- warm, caring, seeking the best for each student and family. Pope Francis, near the end of his life, encouraged devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in order to spark a “revolution of tenderness” in the world. It would be an honor to assist in this work as part of the Advisory Board.

I am a Theology teacher at Bishop Kelly High School. My wife, Angela, and I have 2 kids, Nico and Amaya. I graduated from the University of Portland with a Doctorate in Education in 2018, just a few months before moving our whole family to Boise. Angela and I met at the University of Notre Dame while studying for Masters degrees in Theology. We both graduated in 2010. Angela is a Boise native, while I am from the Redwood Forests of Eureka, CA. We are both products of Catholic schools and feel blessed to send our children to Sacred Heart. Ultimately, I hope to continue the caring, holistic formation we have found here.

Rebecca Stich

My family has been part of Sacred Heart School since our oldest daughter started preschool in 2019. From the moment we first walked through the doors, my husband and I felt that warm welcome that immediately reminded us of the close-knit Catholic schools and communities we grew up in, and we wanted our children to experience that as well. Our first impressions have been confirmed time and again, and we feel blessed to be part of the Sacred Heart community.

I serve as the Our Lady of the Rosary representative on the advisory board. My husband and I have been members of the OLR parish for 18 years, serving with youth and young adult ministries, Hallissey coaching, music ministry, and parish council over those years.

We currently have al three of our children attending Sacred Heart! Rebecca is the Our Lady of the Rosary appointed representative of the Advisory Board.

Danielle Fischer

Hello, my name is Danielle Fischer and I am a proud mom of two kids who attend Sacred Heart School. My son is in 3rd grade at Sacred Heart. Sacred Heart is near and dear to our family’s heart. My husband attended Sacred Heart School Kindergarten through 8th grade, and my mother-in-law taught Art for 30 years at Sacred Heart. When my husband and I started having children it was never a question where they would attend school. I work as a Director of Operations at Saint Alphonsus Health System, where working for a Catholic organization has helped deepen my values in the faith. Our family is active and proud parishioners of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. We have the honor of serving as lectors, eucharistic ministers, children’s liturgy leaders, and altar servers. I am excited to now have the opportunity to give back to the school. When I’m not working, I enjoy exploring Idaho with my family, gardening, raising chickens, and cooking for family and friends.

Shauna Iseri

I grew up on the Oregon Coast where fishing is plentiful and the views are gorgeous. I attended Oregon State University and Pacific University earning a Master of Arts in Teaching. I continued moving up the I-5 corridor and began teaching in the Seattle area. After meeting my husband, who is from the Treasure Valley area, we began dreaming of moving to Boise. We had three daughters in Seattle, and I became a stay at home mom. After teaching in both a private Christian school and the public school system in Seattle we searched for a school that would be best for our daughters. It wasn’t easy and our oldest attended three elementary schools before we landed in the Catholic education system. We like the structure of a Catholic education, higher standards, and the values that lead to positive character building.

Most recently, we finally fulfilled our dream of moving to Boise. The transition from our Catholic School in Seattle to Sacred Heart Elementary was seamless and we couldn’t be happier with the move. This is our third year at Sacred Heart School where we have a first, a seventh grader, and a freshman at Bishop Kelly. I am currently the Home and School president at Sacred Heart. It is a pleasure to serve the Sacred Heart community with the shared goal of providing students with community events and activities that help our school shine. Shauna is the Home and School representative of the Advisory Board.

Dave Carney

I am lucky to have lived in Boise for most of my life, moving here with my family when I was 7, and graduating from Boise State University with a degree in Spanish and Business Administration. My wife and I met while at Boise State, and she now teaches at Bishop Kelly. Our daughter and son attend Sacred Heart, so we are personally invested in ensuring that Sacred Heart provides the best possible education for its students.

As a parent and community member, I understand the importance of creating a supportive and inclusive school environment. I believe that the kindness, community and friendship we have found at Sacred Heart are essential components of the school’s excellent education.

Gina Shanahan

Hello! My name is Gina Shanahan and I am on the Sacred Heart Advisory Council. My husband Tom and I have two Sacred Heart students – our daughter Aislinn and our son John Patrick. We are Sacred Heart parishioners and live in the neighborhood, so we have a deep interest in the well-being of the school and look forward to many years being involved in the Sacred Heart community! I moved to Boise in the fall of 2011 and have been a Spanish teacher at Bishop Kelly ever since. Prior to Boise, I completed my master’s degree from St. Louis University Madrid and my undergraduate degree from Gonzaga University. I’m originally from southern Oregon. In my spare time I enjoy exercising, reading, being outside, and traveling.
