Advisory Board
Chris Nichol
Hello! I am currently the Chair of the Advisory Board. It is an honor to support Sacred Heart School in my position as it has greatly supported my children’s growth – spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and physically. I grew up in the near west suburbs of Chicago, IL. I benefited from a Catholic education in elementary school, high school and college. In 2011, I moved to Boise, ID. From the start, I was able to find a home at Sacred Heart Parish while working at Boise State University as an Assistant Athletic Director in Academic Servivces. I have had children educated at Sacred Heart School for the last 11 years. This year I have three children at Sacred Heart in grades 2 (Quinn), 5(Emmet), 7 (Keira), and one at Bishop Kelly (Jack). I am in the fourth year of my term on the Advisory Board, and I am the Sacred Heart Parish representative.

Sacred Heart School is a very special place for me and my family.
I grew up in Boise and attended Sacred Heart School. My wife, Kelly, is from Spokane and is a product of the Catholic School system, as well. We met at Gonzaga University, and several years later I somehow convinced her to move back to Boise with me. When we started our family there wasn’t really ever a doubt our daughters would attend Sacred Heart. It was full circle for me, and the school reminds Kelly of the small Catholic elementary school she attended in Spokane. Many of my teachers are still at the school (I won’t name names) and my daughters even had Mr. Loffer for a year, who was my principal!
For me, Sacred Heart stands out because of its sense of community. The faculty, staff, and families all are here because they love the values the School represents. It’s been an honor to serve on the advisory board and give back to the school that is such an integral part of my family’s life.

My daughter Hazel (4) has been attending Sacred Heart since preschool in 2022. I’m thrilled for it to be her permanent school home for years to come. We have loved the Sacred Heart Community since she started and I am currently a room parent in her preschool program where I really enjoy being involved. I’m originally from Oklahoma where I graduated from Oral Roberts University with my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. I moved to Boise in 2011 from Dallas after graduating from Parker College of Chiropractic and opened up my own office in Boise. I look forward to contributing to the vision of this advisory board and being a bigger part of the Sacred Heart Community.

My family has been part of Sacred Heart School since our oldest daughter started preschool in 2019. From the moment we first walked through the doors, my husband and I felt that warm welcome that immediately reminded us of the close-knit Catholic schools and communities we grew up in, and we wanted our children to experience that as well. Our first impressions have been confirmed time and again, and we feel blessed to be part of the Sacred Heart community.
I serve as the Our Lady of the Rosary representative on the advisory board. My husband and I have been members of the OLR parish for 18 years, serving with youth and young adult ministries, Hallissey coaching, music ministry, and parish council over those years.
We currently have a third grader and a kindergartner at Sacred Heart, and their little brother looks forward to the day he can join them! Rebecca is the Our Lady of the Rosary appointed representative of the Advisory Board.

Catholic Education has laid a firm foundation in my life. After growing up in Southern Oregon, my first encounter with a Catholic education was college. I attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA for my undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry. I then continued my education at Creighton University in Omaha, NE for medical school. I moved to Boise in 2002 for my Family Medicine residency at the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho and soon after met my husband, Ryan. After we moved to the Depot Bench neighborhood in 2006, we joined Sacred Heart Catholic Church. We were blessed with the birth of our two boys in the coming years and feel fortunate to have brought them up as a part of the Sacred Heart community. Our oldest son, Noah, graduated from Sacred Heart in 2022 and is now at Bishop Kelly and our younger son, Alex, is currently in 8th grade. Elizabeth is an elected member of the Advisory Board.

I grew up on the Oregon Coast where fishing is plentiful and the views are gorgeous. I attended Oregon State University and Pacific University earning a Master of Arts in Teaching. I continued moving up the I-5 corridor and began teaching in the Seattle area. After meeting my husband, who is from the Treasure Valley area, we began dreaming of moving to Boise. We had three daughters in Seattle, and I became a stay at home mom. After teaching in both a private Christian school and the public school system in Seattle we searched for a school that would be best for our daughters. It wasn’t easy and our oldest attended three elementary schools before we landed in the Catholic education system. We like the structure of a Catholic education, higher standards, and the values that lead to positive character building.
Most recently, we finally fulfilled our dream of moving to Boise. The transition from our Catholic School in Seattle to Sacred Heart Elementary was seamless and we couldn’t be happier with the move. This is our third year at Sacred Heart School where we have a first, a seventh grader, and a freshman at Bishop Kelly. I am currently the Home and School president at Sacred Heart. It is a pleasure to serve the Sacred Heart community with the shared goal of providing students with community events and activities that help our school shine. Shauna is the Home and School representative of the Advisory Board.

I am lucky to have lived in Boise for most of my life, moving here with my family when I was 7, and graduating from Boise State University with a degree in Spanish and Business Administration. My wife and I met while at Boise State, and she now teaches at Bishop Kelly. Our daughter (Zion, 10) started attending Sacred Heart in 2nd grade, and our son (Diego, 5) started in kindergarten this year, so we are personally invested in ensuring that Sacred Heart provides the best possible education for its students.
As a parent and community member, I understand the importance of creating a supportive and inclusive school environment. I believe that the kindness, community and friendship we have found at Sacred Heart are essential components of the school’s excellent education.

As a Catholic educator at Bishop Kelly for 17 years and a mom of lovely twin girls who have attended Sacred Heart School since kindergarten, I have unique experience and insights into Catholic education. I have a passion for teaching, learning, and helping students find their passions and vocations. I have a Masters in Curriculum, Instruction, and Foundations (BSU 2011) and a Bachelors in Biology and Chemistry (Pepperdine 2006). Our family cares deeply about Catholic education and the Sacred Heart School Community. I value kindness, cooperation, and good communication as essential elements in the creation of a loving, inclusive, and successful learning community. Serving on the Advisory Board has been a pleasure and I look forward to helping Sacred Heart develop in the future. Kim is an elected member of the Advisory Board.
