I was born in Ohio, but my family moved to Idaho Falls, ID when I was five years old. We moved in the middle of my Kindergarten school year, and I never returned to school until I began First Grade. As a Kindergarten “dropout,” I find it funny sometimes that teaching Kindergarten has become my calling. I must be making up for that lost time! I am a product of eight years of Catholic school. I graduated from Holy Rosary School, Idaho Falls High School, and Boise State University.

I met my husband, Bill, at Boise State. We married in 1991 and have made Boise our home ever since. We have been blessed with three amazing sons. Our oldest, Tommy, is a graduate of Sacred Heart School and Bishop Kelly High School. He is currently attending college and serving our country at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. I think Tommy would agree that Sacred Heart School and its staff played a huge part in his success! Luke, our middle son, is also a graduate of Sacred Heart School and is now thriving and enjoying his time at Bishop Kelly High School. Owen is our youngest boy. He is still learning and growing at Sacred Heart.

As a busy working mom, it is hard to find time for hobbies, but I do enjoy craft-making, baking, photography, playing word games, watching TV, and rooting for the Boise State Broncos football team. I’m learning to be a Navy fan, too! However, my absolute favorite pastime is cheering for my sons’ sports or other activities. I am their greatest fan!

Before I came to Sacred Heart Catholic School in 1996, I had taught for four years in both regular and special needs preschools. My first 11 years at Sacred Heart, I worked as Mrs. Jill Czarniecki’s Preschool and Kindergarten Aide. When she retired, I took over as the head teacher of both grades. Two years later, I was lucky to be given the opportunity to implement the school’s first Full-Day Kindergarten. I have enjoyed every moment at Sacred Heart with my little ones. It is so awesome to watch them grow into kind, intelligent, productive individuals. I feel truly blessed to be part of this wonderful school and church community!

“Everything I need to know, I learned in Kindergarten.” From simple lessons like learning to line up, to tougher ones like sharing and learning to read; all early childhood lessons stay with you for life.
